Hometeam是一家位于纽约的初创企业，专为老年人提供家庭护理服务，在推出隐形版本两年后终于公开发布了。从Lux Capital、IA Ventures和Recruit Strategic Partners处获得融资1100万美元，Hometeam于2013年由曾就职于Bain Ventures的Josh Bruno创立。从那以后，该公司已经在纽约、新泽西和宾夕法尼亚州成百上千的家庭中安置了超过250名的看护。

Bruno表示：“照顾好老年人是我们国家目前所面临的一个巨大问题，大约有5500万成年人在照顾自己的父母，而专业的看护人员有230万。”Bruno还表示92%的成年人在调查时表现出比起养老院更愿意待在自己家，但在很多情况下，家庭成员不具备照顾好老人的能力，因此聘请一位家庭看护员就是唯一的选择了。“全国约有4万家提供家庭护理的机构可以让你找到看护员，但一旦离家就看不见实际发生什么了。”

Hometeam为每个家庭配备一个iPad，通过上面的一款App能够让看护人员使用短信、图片和及时更新的医疗情况来和家庭成员沟通，让他们了解自己的看护表现。Hometeam还聘请了一个护士团队，会定期检查病人的身体状况，以确保他们是被正确护理的。

无独有偶，在老年人护理上运用高科技的创企并不少见。Honor，由前谷歌成员Seth Sternberg创立的家庭护理初创企业，在几个月前的融资中获得2000万美元，就与Hometeam十分相似。Bruno表示Hometeam的特别之处就在于会聘请行业内顶尖的看护人员，并且提供高级定制化水平的护理。Hometeam的看护人员被要求去发现病人喜爱的活动并且在预算内要帮他们达成，当一个人的活动能力有限时，完成活动就具有相当大的难度。Bruno表示：“许多老年人喜欢在花园里活动，那我们就会在窗口放几盆花。如果这个老年人的可活动能力较强，我们就会准备去植物园游玩、去公园散步或是做些园艺。”Hometeam计划在接下来的一年内在九个州建15家新办公场所，其中两家位于加州。
