下一代 iPhone SE 将是基于iPhone XR打造。这意味着苹果将不会采用 iPhone 8的外观设计，当前的 iPhone SE 3 配备 4.7 英寸 LCD 显示屏，而 iPhone XR配备更大的 6.1 英寸 LCD 显示屏。与 2022 款 iPhone SE 3 相比，当然使用iPhone XR的外观设计当然会拥有诸如续航变强等的优势。

而在芯片方面，iPhone SE 3使用的是A15 Bionic处理器。但是，但现在iPhone 14数字系列极有可能会将继续采用 A15 芯片，因此下一代 iPhone SE 4也是用A15也不是没有可能的事情。

在摄像头方面， iPhone SE 3 和 iPhone XR 都有非常相似的传感器，后置 1200 万像素 f / 1.8 光圈摄像头和一前置 700 万像素 f / 2.2 光圈摄像头。当然，苹果可能会改进下一代 iPhone SE 摄像头传感器，或者至少添加新的软件功能，如夜间模式，智能滤镜等影像功能。
